The John Steinbeck Collection by Curated Estates Auctions
Curated Estates is proud to present the personal memorabilia of John and Elaine Steinbeck. John Steinbeck is one of America's greatest storytellers. His work has garnered him The Pulitzer Prize, The National Book Award and The Nobel Prize. Elaine Steinbeck was a tour de force in John's life accompanying him around the globe on travels. Elaine was notable in her own right as one of Broadway's first female stage managers. This auction goes through John's life from childhood to eighteen years of John and Elaine's marriage to Elaine's life after John's passing. These important objects and ephemera have been in storage for almost 20 years and are offered to the public for the first time. Read more

Shipping Info

Shipping After payment of lot, you are always welcome to come and pick up your items up from our gallery. Please bring appropriate packing material and boxes to protection your purchases during the ride home. You can also make arrangements with other carriers to pick up and ship your items for you. Curated Estates must be notified in writing if anyone other than winning bidder will be picking up lot. Curated Estates can also ship your purchases for you. There will be an additional shipping and handling fee, insurance, as well as shipping costs. Smaller items will be shipped by Fedex, UPS or a comparative service. Please contact Curated Estates for shipping quotes prior to bidding. Storage Policies Lots unpaid 7 days after the close of the auction will be moved to our Storage Facility and charged an additional $25 per day per lot. Read more

Previewing Our Auctions If you are in the area, you are invited to come visit us during our posted preview days at our gallery in Lincoln Park, NJ. Private viewings can also be arranged if scheduling permits; please contact us for more information. Buyer’s Premium All internet bids are subject to a flat 25% buyer’s premium. Payment Payment is expected the first week after the sale, payment is expected in full, no payment plan or other arrangements will be made. If you are a successful bidder, please contact Curated Estates, if you have not yet been contacted by Curated Estates, the day after the sale from 11 am-2 pm to confirm auction details and payment method. Payment methods accepted are credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Amex and Discover), check, cashier’s check, cash and wire transfer.
