Cfile.org is a global, nonprofit knowledge center and community of cutting-edge educators, ceramics creatives, critics, curators, collectors, and dealers. Cfile's mission is to inform the community of history, movements, and opportunities, supplement education and promote critical research, writing, and appreciation.
It has two divisions: the free Cfile.Daily broadcasts news and exhibition reviews and in its 4th year is rated the “top ceramic site on the planet” by Feedspot, based on its content and superior metrics.
The members’ Cfile.Campus provides educational support to museums, art schools and universities, and promotes critical dialogue and research through its quarterly journal Ostracon: Criticism + Issues. This year Ostracon Journal will publish its definitive 200-page anthology about the 20th century art object icon, Marcel Duchamp’s Fountain (1917) that is celebrating its 100th birthday this year. The Campus provides members with a catalog every week of a current exhibition from a major gallery or institution, converting the original print document into a widely-accessible eBook.
The heart of the Campus is cfile.library where all our content is gathered, 200 recent exhibition catalogs, full length lectures by the field's leading voices and our two journal Ostracon and C-FOLIO. In addition, Cfile will begin adding nearly thirty years of volumes, digitized and searchable, of three leading journals, American Ceramics, Ceramic Art and Perception and Ceramic Technical as soon as the fall.
