With a great provenance and clear ownership history, this striking dadaist Machine drawing from Klee’s Bauhaus period, hung unrecognized in a charitable foundation collection for over 60 years; Contents from the estate of Gilded Age heiress Huguette Clark. One of the famous “Poor Little Rich Girls” that captivated American society in the 1920s, and gained new renown as a self-hospitalized recluse for the last decades of her life, Millea offers an astounding assortment of Fine Art, European Antiques, Rare Musical Instruments, and Clark’s personal paintings once shown to great fanfare in a 1925 show at the Corcoran Gallery Museum; Contemporary Art and Design from the Collection of Dr. Pentti Kouri including Jasper Johns, Dennis Hopper, Mark Handforth, Jean Prouve, and Jacques Adnet. A partner of George Soros, Dr. Kouri amassed a cutting edge collection of Minimalist, Arte Povera, and Pop installation art for a private Museum.
