Comprising a miniature baluster-form vase and a hexagonal bowl, each finely hand-painted and gilt decoration. The vase features samurai warriors amid mountainous landscape elements and brocade-inspired borders. The bowl depicts an interior scene of finely dressed figures in a courtly procession, encircled by chrysanthemum and textile motif decoration. Both pieces exhibit a finely crackled glaze typical of Satsuma-style ware. Likely early 20th century, TaishÅ period or later. Each signed to the underside.
