  Single folio illuminated manuscript leaf with center crease, featuring a half-length portrait of a gentleman—identified by the inscription as Johann Schmaus—rendered in the style of late 16th–early 17th century German or Central European portraiture. The sitter is depicted within an elaborate cartouche frame, wearing a dark fur-trimmed coat and a starched ruff collar. <br> To the right, the page displays four vibrantly painted coats of arms, each surmounted by distinctive crests, executed with strong color saturation and gilded highlights. Beneath the heraldic devices is an elaborate calligraphic flourish surrounding the name Johann Schmaus, likely originating from a larger heraldic or genealogical volume.
