An antique Hepplewhite, 2-piece step-back flame mahogany wood with parquetry inlaid stringing writing desk. The desk has a fold out green leather writing surface over 2 drawers. The cupboard holds 6 generous drawers and 7 cubby holes.
The desk has 4 locks which appear to be original.
The drawer handle pulls commemorate the naval battles on the ships of the Copenhagen and Trafalgar during the Napoleonic Wars, thus confirming the English origins of the desk and its age of c. 1815.
The desk is easy to move and works well for small spaces.
