This necklace plays with transparency to make single-use plastic look like a miniature, distant view of rolling hills impacted by atmospheric perspective. The natural phenomenon that has inspired this necklace has also inspired a ring and set of earrings. Each piece is hand-made, which means each will have its own unique color variances and relief stamps.
Single use plastic, riveted together with a silver tube. Cord is made from grey cotton.
For an entire year in 2018, I saved every piece of single-use plastic my household used; to-go cups, plastic bags, and clamshell containers. I wanted to see what I actually contribute and how long it would take me to repurpose and use this year's worth of plastic. Here it is, 2021, and I'm still working with the same collection of materials.
All work will be shipped using reused/recycled shipping materials.
I might be able to help you out! Email email@example.com with any questions or to schedule a zoom or phone call to see/talk about the pieces you are interested in.
