Rawhide covered seat with brass pommel and cantle shields, and strap escutcheons, one lacking, brass furniture. Skirts of brown pigskin, a typical sign of Confederate construction. Complete with wooden stirrups with black harness leather straps.
Provenance: John Ashworth Collection
Good. Rawhide cover has several cracks, splits and loose stitching. Pigskin finish shows service wear and age cracks. Stirrup strap finish crazed and flaking. All leather still solid and flexible. Some wood loss on the stirrups.
