.54 caliber, 33.5" octagonal barrel, E. Beerstecher, Patent 1855, Lewisburg Pa. Patent breech with superposed load, two percussion nipples. Hammer with an Adjustable nose for firing one of two percussion nipples. Tang with double screws, double wedges, German Silver furniture, and patchbox. Maple stock with cheek piece.
Barrel retains most of the original brown finish just lightly turning to a reddish brown. Lock and hammer have a nice even look with the barrel. German Silver with nice untouched patina. Stock with nice dark patina. Lines of the stock are sharp and crisp. Overall this rifle is about as good as one can fine. Very rare rifle with the Beerstecher's system.
