.44 caliber, 3 3/8" barrel. The remnants of an H. Deringer Philadel. marking appear on the breech of the barrel. The lock features scroll engraving, with a dolphin form hammer. The derringer features German silver furniture, including an engraved trigger guard with a tobacco leaf finial, a forend cap, geometric escutcheons, a butt inlay and a shield form thumbprint. With a checkered grip, and a wooden ramrod.
The barrel appears to have been polished, and has a mottled gunmetal patina. The stock is in excellent condition. The bore and action are good.
