The left side of the case hardened frame is marked with the Marlin company name and address, and Ballard's patent. With spirit level and wingauge front sight and an adjustable mid-range Vernier tang peep sight. These sights appear to be an upgrade, as normal sights were a graduated peep sight with a globe type front sight. The rifle also features double set triggers and a full loop lever. The forearm is checkered and features a tapered forend. The pistol grip buttstock is made of deluxe wood, and features a raised cheeckpiece and a nickel plated Swiss style buttplate. This No. 8 Union Hill remains virtually new, and may be the best one in existence.
Excellent condition throughout. The bore is near mint and the mechanics are excellent.
