The artwork measures (27 5/8 x 19 7/8) (29 1/2 x 21 5/8) inches and is from a private collection. This work of art embodies the artistic style reminiscent of Tullio Crali. He was an Italian Dalmatian artist associated with Futurism. A self-taught painter, he was a late adopter of the movement, which he did not join until 1929. He is known for his realist paintings combining "speed, aerial mechanization and the mechanics of aerial warfare", although in his long career he also painted in other styles. His early paintings depict military aircraft, Aerial Squadron and Aerial Duel (both 1929). In the 1930s his paintings became realistic, intended to communicate the experience of flight to the viewer. 3.
