Original 20 parts bound in 19, original yellow printed wrappers, uncut, with ads for Lea and Blanchard publications on the inside, 16-page catalogue to part 1, housed in custom cloth-backed clamshell case with gilt-lettered spine label. First American edition (first edition per Wilkins, likely ran concurrently with Wiley edition in parts), with eight engraved plates. Chipping and soiling to wraps with 1x6-inch loss to top of upper wrap part 1, portion lacking from bottom part 16 wrap and text; starting to become unsewn, but contents intact.
