Sir John Franklin was a British Royal Navy Officer and Arctic Explorer. He disappeared on his last expedition in 1845, attempting to chart and navigate a section of the Northwest Passage in the Canadian Arctic. Hall went on expeditions to find Sir John Franklin and his men, however, they turned out to be unsuccessful.
