Large scale bisque, terracotta sculpture of a horse and rider created by Dane Henry Burr of Waynesville, North Carolina. Sculpture measures 25" in height by 18" wide and 8" deep. In very good vintage condition. Unsigned.

Burr was a native of Cleveland, Ohio and knew at a very early age that he wanted to be an artist. He was an alumnus of the Cleveland Institute of Art. Dane and Mary Etta Burr owned and operated Burr Studio, a prominent studio and gallery on main Street in Waynesville, NC. Dane made his living with his art and was especially well-known for his lyrical clay sculpture with he sold to collectors worldwide. His work has earned numerous accolades.
