- Lot Description
A Chinese Rose Medallion porcelain jardinière, of rounded bulbous form with a wide flared rim, finely enameled in famille rose colors with alternating figural court scenes, birds, butterflies, flowering branches, and dense foliate panels. The interior and underside are glazed in pale celadon-white, with expected age-related surface wear, scattered firing specks, rim wear, glaze crazing/hairlines, and areas of discoloration visible to the interior. Presented on a carved dark hardwood stand with scrolling openwork decoration, showing wear, rubbing, and finish loss consistent with age and use. A decorative and colorful example of export-style Chinese porcelain, well suited for display as a jardinière, cachepot, or collector’s accent. Approx. dimensions with stand (in): 8.25 x 8.5 x 8.5.
