- Lot Description
Pair of Hebrew Machzor “Beis Israel” holiday prayer books published by Hirsz Mac in Wilno, Poland (now Lithuania), featuring decorative red and green title pages and Hebrew and Yiddish text. Each volume is housed in a carved wood binding decorated with architectural and Jerusalem-themed imagery, with cloth-covered spines and patterned endpapers. The books show extensive age and use, including toning, inscriptions, edge losses, loose and detached pages, weakened bindings, separated covers, and wear and scratching to the wooden boards. Approx. dimensions (in): 9 x 6.25 x 1.25.
