- Lot Description
A signed carved wooden eider duck decoy by Tom Taber, displaying a bold sculptural form with raised head, applied glass eyes, relief-carved wing detail, and a long tapered bill. The decoy retains a striking dry, crackled painted surface in yellow, black, gray, and tan, with extensive honest wear, paint loss, crazing, scuffs, and age-related surface character throughout. The underside bears an incised “Tom Taber” signature, along with a later paper label reading “Eider by Tom Taber,” green felt pads, and visible construction and age marks. A decorative folk-art style sporting decoy with strong visual presence, appealing patina, and desirable carved detail. Approx. dimensions (in): 7.5 x 15.25 x 5.75.
