Featured in this lot is this Montana variety barbed wire display circa 1860 to 1880's. This display features a wonderfully and professionally crafted professionally framed display construction and shows original 1880's Montana barbed wire with a variety of styles that include tags explaining that; the frames were all custom made with burl wood panel decoration. The first strand and note is and reads as Follows: Sunderlands Kink Buffalo - A Kink under each. BARA Pat. Aug 12, 1884. The second strand and note is and reads as follows: C.A. Vasburgh "Clinch Wiire" Pat. Oct. 3, 1876. The next strand and note is and reads as follows: Kelly's Diamond Point Galvanized - Pat. Feb 11, 1868. The next strand and note is and reads as follows: J. Brinkerhalf Twisted - Pat. Apr. 8, 1879 - Glover #96. O. O. Kittleson "Half Hitch" Pat. May 7, 1878. The next strand and note is and reads as follows:#86 Twist Oval 4 Point Lock M.C. Shinn Pat. The condition of this barbed wire display is well preserved with some minor repair tot he trim of the custom frame of the display and shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this barbed wire display is 60 3/8" x 37 3/8". The collective weight of this display is 39lb 10oz.
