Whaler Made Scrimshaw Seamstress Pattern Marking Wheel, circa 1860, fashioned from a small whale tooth with a cast steel wheel at one end with an inlaid wood ball grip with abalone dots and star scrimshawed panels, the tooth engraved “A Stitch in Time Saves 9” and “Mary” on the reverse.
