ABRAMOVIC, Marina. (b. 1946). Image of Happiness, 1998. Screenprint in colors, signed, dated and numbered "Marina Abramović 98" 118/150 (lower right). In fine condition. Image size 27 3/4 x 19 1/2"; sheet 31 x 23 1/4". Framed.
An unusual work on paper by the Serbian performance artist whose work explores the relationship between performer and audience, the limits of the body, and the possibilities of the mind. Active for over four decades, Abramović has been described as the "grandmother of performance art." She pioneered a new notion of identity by bringing in the participation of observers, focusing on "confronting pain, blood, and physical limits of the body."
