This Adirondack 'M63' professional model bat was the preferred choice of lumber for Willie Mays from 1960 until his final MLB season in 1973. The "Say Hey Kid" has boldly autographed and inscribed this 1968-70 game issued example for beautiful aesthetics and ideal display. Mays made the NL All-Star team all three seasons during the labeling period. In 1968, he extended his run of twelve straight Gold Gloves in center field. In 1969, he hit his 600th career home run using this model. And in 1970, the Giants legend blasted 28 homers, drive in 83 and scored 94 runs at the age of 39.
The bat shows no apparent use, according to John Taube. Model number “M63” is stamped into the knob end. The center brand and Mays insignia on the barrel are exceptionally well-preserved. Willie has signed his name and "Best Wishes" in 9/10 thick black marker with even better eye appeal. Comes with full authentication paperwork from PSA/DNA for the bat and Beckett for the autograph.
