Hand-felted, hand-dyed silk and fine merino wool throw. This textile is created when black silk is hand cut into an original composition and layered with fine merino wool in an improvisational pattern. The materials are merged together when wet-felted by hand, using soap, water and friction.
The pattern facing side is composed of black and white silk. The opposite side, is a natural white merino wool.
This piece measures approximately 47”wide and 72”long. Due the nature of the process used to create this textile the edges undulate, and vary slightly in width and length.
This textile can be cleaned in a variety of ways. It can be spot cleaned with soap and water. It can be washed in a "trusted" gentle cycle with room temperature water. Or it can be dry-cleaned. Hang dry. Never wash in hot water or put in dryer. It also loves a good steam, so it can be "refreshed" with an iron or hand steamer.
This piece although substantial, still remains thin, lightweight and warm. It is a great addition to a modern home or for the animal print lover in your life.
