• Lot Description

  Sculpted stone. Sculptural fragment representing the upper part of a male torso, rendered with powerful and synthetic modeling. The pectorals are broadly rounded, and the transition to the shoulders and upper back is executed with great mastery of volume. The surface exhibits a homogeneous patina in grayish-brown tones, accompanied by traces of oxidation and calcareous deposits that attest to prolonged exposure in a monumental context. This fragment illustrates the formal quality and monumentality characteristic of Khmer sculpture from the Angkorian period. 16 cm
