This iconic rocker made by Robert and Tor Erickson is represented in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Museum of American Art. The seat is a single plank and the chair features their original flexible 'floating back' and is made from exquisitely figured California walnut. In a review of handmade rockers The Atlantic Monthly declared this design "the highest nexus of art and ergonomics".

This father and son team builds just 75 pieces of furniture a year, mostly chairs and tables. They painstakingly craft sculptural pieces of furniture off the grid, deep in the woods of the Sierra Nevada. Their work is represented in various collections, including the Smithsonian's American Art Museum, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the Yale University Art Gallery.
