• Lot Description
  Following the Silver Jubilee, oversized lockets became the most fashionable jewelry ornaments worn in the late 1800's. They were oversized because photos were not easy to reduce in size at the time. Our locket has an overlay of yellow and pink gold leaves on silver, flanking a geometric lattice design at the center. The overlay has the effect of giving the locket three- dimensionality. The locket is hallmarked Birmingham for the year 1890.
