- Lot Description
This circular jade disc is a translucent green jade with areas of calcification. A high collar rises from the interior perforation on either side. Eight thin concentric grooves encircle the center throughout the width of the disc. Works such as this are a common type found in ceremonial pits in Jinsha, Sichuan.Jade, Dia: 4 3/4 in. Th: 1 /58 - 1/8 in. With a certificate of authenticity issued by Gu Fang, Senior Fellow of the Institute of Archaeology Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) (#209)
