WINTER EVENINGS AMUSEMENT, Volume 1, appropriately 'open' to CHARADES, an apt description of the visual, artistic masquerade that is being effected. Volume 2 is open to ENIGMATICAL BOUQUET / RIDDLES which ironically characterizes the mystery of their purpose and use. Found in the attic of the Massachusetts Knapp/Reed Colonial House that faces Plymouth Rock and were gifted to the dealer I purchased them from. c. 1850
