Biography: Born in 1865 in Rochester, NY. DuMond was a pupil of Constant, Lefebvre, and Boulanger in Paris. As a teacher he influenced thousands of artists during the 49 years he taught at the ASL in NYC. He was elected a member of the Nat'l Academy in 1906. DuMond was in San Francisco during the PPIE of 1915 in which he served as a member of the Int'l Jury of Awards and painted a large mural for the exposition called Pageant of California. The mural, which showed William Keith at his easel, hung in the old San Francisco Public Library until its conversion to the Asian Museum. DuMond died in NYC on Feb. 6, 1951.
