With a great provenance and clear ownership history, this striking dadaist Machine drawing from Klee’s Bauhaus period, hung unrecognized in a charitable foundation collection for over 60 years; Contents from the estate of Gilded Age heiress Huguette Clark. One of the famous “Poor Little Rich Girls” that captivated American society in the 1920s, and gained new renown as a self-hospitalized recluse for the last decades of her life, Millea offers an astounding assortment of Fine Art, European Antiques, Rare Musical Instruments, and  Clark’s personal paintings once shown to great fanfare in a 1925 show at the Corcoran Gallery Museum; Contemporary Art and Design from the Collection of Dr. Pentti Kouri including Jasper Johns, Dennis Hopper, Mark Handforth, Jean Prouve, and Jacques Adnet. We are partnering with The Woodstock Artists Association & Museum this year for their annual benefit auction. The auction will feature fine examples of paintings, prints, works on paper, sculpture, and photography, representing works by historic Woodstock artists as well as contemporary 20th century artists living and working in the Hudson Valley region and beyond.

The WAAM Fine Arts Benefit Auction is their second biggest fundraiser of the year and proceeds go towards their dynamic schedule of solo and group exhibitions, their vital education program that provides outreach to over 700 students in the Ulster Country school systems, their important Archives and Library that preserves information relating to the lives and careers of artists associated with the Woodstock region, and their landmark Permanent Collection of over 2,200 objects representing important American artists who have lived and created in the Woodstock region.

Michaan's presents exceptional period furnishings from the estates of two prominent California collectors. Amassed in collaboration with top American and international designers, the collections include rare English and continental antiques such as the pair of George III oval mirrors after Robert Adam. Fine Regency, Empire and Neoclassical furniture and decorations are featured. Bronzes, Baroque needleworks, and 19th century French songbird models are among the unusual finds. 20th century highlights include French Bagues rock crystal wall lights, a 1930s Gio Ponti pendant lantern, Eames credenza and more from masters of modern design. Fine collectibles range from Royal Bayreuth porcelain to handmade American appliquéd quilts. Statuary and ornaments for the garden include monumental pieces from England and France. 19th-century lions to guard an entrance, massive stone frogs to bring good fortune, and iconic English lead Warwick Castle garden urns are a few examples. Italian Renaissance bronze wine amphora have a rich patina of great age. The rare Chinoiserie faux bois cast stone dog house is a garden folly for the ages.
