Featured in this lot is this 3.09 carat trillion tanzanite diamond and 18k white gold ring with GGA paperwork. The ring features a wonderfully and professionally crafted 18k white gold construction that is marked 'Oscar Friedman' and is marked '18k' next to the hallmark and is marked 'TA 3.09ct and D 0.80cts.' The centerstone is a natural trillion brilliant cut tanzanite gemstone that shows measurements of 10.92 x 8.82mm and is considered type 1 with bluish violet coloration with excellent symmetry and shows intense coloration with a total weight of 3.09 carats. The double bar frame and trillian halo decoration shows a total of 51 round brilliant cut diamonds with measurements of 2 x 1.5mm with SI1-SI2 clarity and a color gradient of G - H coloration and a total diamond weight of 0.80 carats. Tanzanite is a very rare precious gemstone that is only found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. It was originally discovered in 1967 by Tiffany & Company, who named the stone Tanzanite. This example is unique due to its exceptional pleochroism (an optical phenomenon in which a stone has different colors when observed at different angles). The piece comes complete with GGA(GemAssure Gemological Appraisals, GGA Appraisal Number#: GGA061488 and trace number: RN033031) report and appraisal confirming the above info and giving a total value of $12,630.00. The ring size is US 6 1/2.
