Both printed and bound by Andreae Frisii in Amsterdam in 1671 The first work is a chronicle of ancient headdresses, while the second is an analysis of the Roman toga. Dimensions: 3 1/4 by 5 1/2"; gowns and headdresses illustrated. There are fold-out plates.
Frontispiece allegorical etched by R. de Hooge In good shape. The cover is clean, but the vellum is soiled. There are two missing plates: the frontispiece of De Toga Romana and page 181. Latin text featuring the bookplate of Anglican clergyman, clock enthusiast, and antiquary Henry Thomas Ellacombe (1790–1885).
