These Monochromatic paintings combine Korean aesthetics with Eastern philosophy with WesternModernist practices. Numerous small textures are repeated in multiple layers, like a Buddhist monk inan attempt to reach Nirvana. These lines are inspired by the Korean alphabet and glyphs. The finalpainting is achieved with the thick layers of paint in clay-like stroke, distinguishing her work fromothers. The painting is imbibed with a coating of Swarovski crystal dust that gives it an ethereal andotherworldly feeling. Kang has been very active in the past decade, with her work being shown in numerous museums. She has had solo exhibitions in the United States, Monaco, Mexico, Rusiia, Italy, Korea, China, amd Hong Kong. Most recently, her first career retrospective titled, "Dialogs of the Scared", was at the Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center, in Anaheim, Ca.
