N.B. Japanese-born and New York-based photographer Kenro Izu is a master of creating large format, platinum/palladium prints. Working almost exclusively with a 14 x 20-inch camera, Izu has been making photographs that explore the human body and botanical views in an ongoing series titled
Still Life. He is a recipient of NEA grants and received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2002. His photographs are included in the collections of leading museums including the Getty Museum, Metropolitan Museum of Art, SFMOMA, and Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
