  Of rounded square shape ormolu bronze jewelry casket with hinged lid, purple velvet lining; serpentine body lavishly decorated with laurel leaf garlands, floral-foliate and scroll design, rosettes - all on fine intricate cast striped backgrounds, raise on four baluster feet. Adorned on the lid with hand painted miniature portrait under beveled glass, depicting Georgiana Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire. Original key.

  Condition

  Overall very good, some wear to gilt finish, top insert is slightly loose in frame.
