- Lot Description
Picasso Facsimile Signed Vintage Lithograph of 1962 "Woman in Hat with Pom Poms" Dedicated in the signature to Sabartes, Created by the Reknown Dutch Printmaker Verkerke... Jaume Sabartés was a Catalan Spanish artist, poet and writer. He was a close friend of Pablo Picasso and later became his secretary/administrator.
Verkerke Reprodukties NV was started in 1957 when its founder art print pinoeer Engel Verkerke realized that there was a niche in the market for reasonably priced art reproductions. In addition to this work, Verkerke personally visited Pablo Picasso to obtain the rights for his 1955 drawing Don Quixote. This piece was originally sold by the celebrated Art Gallery E. Daub & Söhne in Berlin in 1994.
