The Old and New Testaments of the Biblia Germanica (Dilherr Bible) are written by Martin Luther and include a preface by Johann Michael Dilherrn. The New Testament has about 145 text woodcuts by E. and three full-page engravings, along with the title. Porzel following J.J. Sandrart. Title page, frontispiece, 26 leaves, 1180 pages, 12 leaves. Huge folio measuring 9 1/2 by 15" Thickness: 3/4"; blind-tooled leather over wooden boards; brass fittings (missing clasps, binding remounted, spine remounted, endpapers renewed); frontispiece absent; title page and two engravings missing and replaced with facsimilies; lacking the electors' portraits; somewhat browned and stained; overall, a clean, restored copy.
