Beautiful edition of the Louvain Bible v. 1547 (ed. by J. Henten), Antwerp, Stelsius, 1561. The Old Testament includes the well-known Holbein "Icones" v. 1538 (cat. Holbein exhibition, Basel 1960, no. 423); The New Testament includes four woodcuts of the Evangelists, a woodcut printer's device, and about a hundred text woodcuts after Hans Holbein. The binding is limp vellum with a manuscript title to the spine that shows significant wear and has some missing ties. worn, title page with a spot and trimmed margins, several leaves damaged at the beginning and end of the folio.
