A figurine is a small statue that represents a human, god, animals, birds, and many more. The figurine can be a single or a group statue. The figurine can be made up of many materials such as metals, clay, wood, glass, crystal, and so on. Many people might confuse a figurine with a statue, however, there is not a lot of difference between a figurine and a statue except for the height. The maximum height of any figurine can be up to two feet. While statues can be of much bigger sizes. The prehistoric popular figurine of pregnant women was called Venus figurines. They were mostly made up of stone and fired clay. The earliest figures that have been discovered are not yet clear on why and how they were used during late times. Many people believe that the earliest figurines were probably used for some religious occasions or were worn as jewelry to amuse children. Many of the earliest figurines were discovered in the tombs. Porcelain and ceramic are the most commonly used material to create a figurine but many people during late times also used varieties of bronze and molds. Most of the figurines were religious and were kept in temples while some were kept in houses and some were buried with their owners. Some of the famous figurines are named Hummel figurine and Angle figurine. Antique and vintage figurines hold a lot of history and are extremely valuable which are now available at online auctions at the sale. Most of the figurines that can be seen these days are made from various luxurious materials which are mostly kept for decoration purposes.
