- Lot Description
Henri Emile Benoit Matisse (French, 1869-1954) After/Manner of: Profil de femme. Pen and black ink on paper, unframed.
Matisse was known for both his use of colour and his fluid and original draughtsmanship. He was a draughtsman, printmaker, and sculptor, but is known primarily as a painter. Matisse is accepted as one of the most influential modern painters and crowned as the leader of Fauvism, a 20th century movement that favored a painterly style and bold, expressive use of color over the representational or naturalistic values of the Impressionist movement before.

Good condition, presents some discoloration due to age.
