Salvo (Salvatore Mangione), Italy, 1947-2015, Attributed: Decembre. Oil on canvas, signed ands titled on the back of the canvas, unframed.
Salvo started his artistic career in Turin as an Italian Modernist, participating in the Arte Povera movement during the 1960s. Influenced by artists like Alighieri Boetti and Gilberto Zorio, Salvo transitioned from avant-garde sculpture and photography to figurative painting in 1973. inspired by Giorgio de Chirico's Metaphysical art movement, He created compositions which combined reality with unexpected elements to evoke psychological responses like nostalgia and estrangement.
