Gift from the above to private collection, Los Angeles, 1985Note: These exceptional Jim Dine watercolors radiate the artist’s signature vitality and expressive energy. Through bold washes, layered line, and his iconic motifs—hearts, robes, tools—Dine transforms the medium into studies of color, movement, and emotion. Immediate yet meticulously considered, they exemplify the intimacy, dynamism, and modernist sophistication that have made his watercolors highly prized by collectors of postwar American art. n 1981 Jim Dine was visiting Los Angeles and in November of that year he was commissioned by a patron to complete a large series of bas-reliefs for Bernard's Restaurant in the Biltmore Hotel. This project would occupy the artist for ten weeks with the majority of the work created at Otis Art Institute of Parsons School of Design.;Notes: This item does not qualify for in-house shipping.
