Italian or Swiss complete antique suit of armour in the 17th century style, finely detailed with rope edged elements scattered throughout. Comprising typical Swiss pauldrons (shoulder guards), close helmet with low central comb, heavy breastplate fitted with arm gussets and two wide laminated plates at the base with attached laminated tassets. Complete gauntlets with fully articulated lames with riveted borders. Pair of later full steel leg defenses. Together with bearing sword having flamberge blade, hilt with wrought guard, leather grip handle, and hammered orb pommel. No apparent makers mark, on custom wooden stand. Approx. suit of armor h. 66", sword h. 67.5", stand h. 12", w, 20.25", d. 18.25".
