Burmese (Mandalay Period), mid to late 19th century. Carved stone (likely alabaster) figural sculpture depicting a reclining Buddha wearing a gilt accented draped robe on a patinated stone base. Buddha with resting hand on head with jeweled headdress, additional jeweled accents on bolster pillow under body. Inscribed with text in Burmese on base. Figure further supported on a black rectangular plinth base. Overall (including base) height 13.5", width 30.25", depth 8.9".
