Cecil de Blaquiere Howard (American, 1888 - 1956) marble sculpture of Lucy Krohg. White marble; female nude with arms behind her head, on a square plinth. Signed "Howard." Lucy Krohg was a noted model of Howard's and was the subject of a piece at the 1913 New York Armory Show. Examples of the artist's work can be fund in the collections of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Metropolitan Museum of Art and Musée d'Orsay. Approx. w. 4.5", h. 18.5", d. 3.625". Note: a bronze casting of this piece sold at Sotheby's, London, July 12, 2017 for $15,231.
