Jean Charles Delafosse (French, 1734-1791), circa last quarter 18th century. A Louis XVI period parcel gilt and green painted carved wood weather station bearing mercury thermometer (tubes missing) and barometer, the pear shaped form with vertical rectangular thermometer at top over a round barometer with each surrounded by relief gilt c-scrolls, shell forms, and acanthus leaf tips reserved on a light green painted ground. Thermometer inscribed "Thermometre de M Reaumur (for René Antoine Ferchault de Réaumur (French, 1683-1757)". Barometer signed "C. Delafosse 1783 (or 1785)". Approximate height 43.375", width 16".
