Early 20th century, English, gilt sterling silver dessert flatware set for 12. Hallmarked Sheffield, 1907, maker's mark for George Hape. Consisting of 12 forks, 12 knives and 2 shell bowl serving spoons, all with reeded and Mother-of-Pearl handles with shell knop ends. In brass bound rosewood fitted case with engraved brass presentation plate with a marquis' crown above the letter or Roman numeral "V". 7.75" L (knives), 6.5" (forks), 9.25" L (serving spoons), 12.625" x 9.625" (case).
