Note: According to an appraisal document on this work, the painting depicts a Spanish couple who befriended Bekkala while she studied art and painted in Spain. Bekkala's work has been shown throughout Europe and the United States including at Gallery 696 in Rochester, New York, Kirkhof Art Gallery in Allendale, Michigan, Janus Avivson Gallery in London, England, Wetherholt Galleries in Washington D.C., and the Janice Mason Art Museum in Cadiz, Kentucky.
