French, Late 19th century. Empire style gilt bronze 12 light chandelier with foliate pierced corona over a vasiform and urn standard decorated with masks and joined to the acanthus scrolling arms by four oval and foliate pierced chains, the 12 acanthus scrolled candlearms alternating in height, the base mounted with four female masks and terminating in a ormolu knop. Height 31", diameter 24". Provenance: According to consignor, consignor's parents purchased the chandelier from R. J. Reynolds Plantation, Sapelo Island.
