French, late 19th/early 20th century. A Louis XV style walnut bombe form commode having a serpentine molded green marble top over a conforming case with two drawers, each with matched rosewood veneer and gilt bronze rocaille pulls within a bronze banding above the scalloped apron centered with gilt bronze urn and foliate mounts, the sides similarly inlaid within a decorative bronze banding, the angles with elaborate male and female term stile mounts trailing to molded chutes and ending in scrolled cast sabots. Approximate height 35.4", width 49", depth 21"(marble top).
Minor scattered scratches to marble top commensurate with age and light use. Scattered wear to finish on top interior of drawers from rubbing on frame. Light retouches to mounts. Scattered splits with retouches to drawer front, bombe sides, and apron. Light oxidation to mounts. No other signs of damage, loss or repair.
